The Country Music Association has announced that the 46th Annual CMA Awards will be broadcast on Thursday, Nov. 1 this year, at 8 p.m. ET. The three-hour awards special will air live on ABC from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
Last year at the CMA Awards, Jason Aldean took home Album of the Year for “My Kinda Party,” the Band Perry walked away with three trophies, including the New Artist of the Year award, and Taylor Swift won the evening’s biggest prize — Entertainer of the Year.
“The CMA Awards is one of the most highly anticipated events for our industry each year,” said CMA CEO Steve Moore in a statement. “It’s a night to honor our finest performers, songwriters, record producers, musicians, and music video directors.”
The 2011 CMA Awards saw a rise in ratings from the previous year, with an average of 16.3 million viewers and a 4.8 rating in adults 18-49, THR reported in November.
During the week of the CMA Awards, ABC will also be taping the “CMA Country Christmas” special to air around the winter holidays.
