A lot of events are currently up in the air. Ultra Music Festival and Coachella were cancelled or postponed, tours are dropping out left and right, and every day, more artists turn to the internet and live streams as a means to share some light.
So far, Opiuo and CloZee’s big Red Rocks celebration is still on for the end of May, but the experimental Australian and French producers have been crafty since before Coronavirus put the industry on hold.
They came together on a moody mix exploring organic elements and electronic sounds to gets fans pumped on the big event.
“I think this mix shows the pure originality, epic variety, and beautifully complementary sounds from all of the acts on the lineup,” Opiuo tells Billboard Dance. “It’s a huge pleasure to be able to perform with so many artists I admire and love, but also, getting to fill this mix with unreleased music is extra awesome.”
The mix also features a collab with CloZee, some new tunes, and a remix of Overture from the Whiplash film soundtrack, which he says was “a super honor to do.” Opiuo adds, “This upcoming show is everything I love about the wonderfully wild thing we call music.”
The mix fills out with tunes from the rest of the artists on the lineup, including LSDream, Of The Trees and K+Lab. It’s a collection of cool grooves so slick, you can close your eyes and almost see the sunset colors of the Colorado amphitheater.
“While I was doing the mix, I realized how perfectly all our tunes were blending together,” CloZee says. “Everybody on the lineup has a unique and recognizable sound, but the synergy between our music is incredible. I couldn’t be more excited and honored to play alongside amazing people and friends. It’s a dream gig for me.”
Opiuo and CloZee’s big Red Rocks get-down is scheduled for May 28. Tickets are on sale now. Listen to the full 30-minute mix from the co-headliners below.
