Eric Clapton, former Rolling Stones bassist Bill Wyman and popular British musician/TV presenter Jools Holland will perform together for the first time March 15 in a charity event at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
The one-off show, “One Generation 4 Another,” will benefit the Lord’s Taverners, a 54-year-old British charity founded by sports-loving entertainers. Named for an English pub frequented by the founders, organization offers children with special needs the opportunity to attend sporting events.
Other performers will include ’60s soul star Geno Washington, Fleetwood Mac guitarist Peter Green and singer Roger Chapman of ’60s band Family).
Richard Stilgoe, musician and Lord’s Taverners’ president, says: “Some Lord’s Taverners may be too old for sex and need medication rather than drugs, but we still love rock ‘n’ roll. This new concert will, I hope, be the first of many.”
