CinemaNow and MediaPass Network have inked separate deals with Microsoft to make music videos available for downloading and viewing on Windows Mobile-enabled devices, including portable media centers, mobile phones and Pocket PC PDAs.
CinemaNow’s service, called “WatchMusicHere.com,” will feature videos from Warner Music Group and TVT Records acts. The à la carte, download-to-own service charges $1.99-$2.99 for each video; the clips are available in multiple formats for playback on traditional PCs as well as the portable devices.
MediaPass offers a subscription download service that allows users to watch music videos on portable handsets via a 30-day license as part of the existing MediaPass Webcast service. Participating artists include Emma Bunton, Kate Ryan and newer bands like Slunt, Submersed and the Comas.
