Plaza Live Venue, the Orlando music venue where Voice alum Christina Grimmie was fatally shot on Friday night, has suspended all activity “until further notice.”

“Like everyone else in the community, the board and staff at the Plaza Live Venue are deeply saddened by the tragic events of Friday evening. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those lost as well as those who witnessed and aided in the recovery after this senseless act,” Plaza Live Venue posted on its Facebook account on Saturday afternoon.
“We are closely working with The Orlando Police Department on this active law enforcement investigation and therefore necessarily defer specific questions to OPD’s Public Information Officer,” the music venue’s statement continued. “All activities and events at the Plaza Live Venue have been suspended until further notice.”

The 22-year-old late singer performed with the band Before You Exit at Plaza Live earlier in the evening and was meeting with fans following the concert when she was killed by a male suspect who “didn’t appear to know her personally and may have been a deranged fan,” according to the AP. Orlando Police Chief John Mina said during a press conference on Saturday that the suspect who shot and killed her had on him two handguns, two loaded magazines and a hunting knife when he confronted the singer.
Grimmie finished as a top 3 finalist on the sixth season of The Voice on Team Adam [Levine].
