Chrissy Teigen has never been one ashamed to live her truth. On social media, she often makes it known that if you’re willing to dish it, you’d better be ready to receive it right back. Her spunky, no-holds-barred attitude make her interestingly relatable, and now, even more so.
Though the model-TV personality seemed like an open book, she recently opened up even more about personal struggles fans she’s discussed in public before: fertility issues and postpartum depression.
In InStyle‘s October issue, the 31-year-old divulged that she and husband John Legend started with 20 embryones when starting fertility treatments a few years ago. They picked the ones “you know are going to be good for your body” and were left with three. “The first little girl didn’t work, and then the second is Luna,” she says. The couple plans to try for another child with the third embryo in coming months.
As for her stint with postpartum, the Lip Sync Battle co-host spoke of her experience not being solely mental, noting that at one point, she physically could not move. Countless women suffer from infertility, and Teigen made one thing loud and clear: they are not alone. “I have really good days and really bad days, and I don’t tend to talk about the really bad days,” she says. “But I would hate for people to think those days didn’t exist.”
