A Chris Cornell documentary is in the works, according to Variety. The doc will be produced by Brad Pitt, Peter Berg and the late Audioslave frontman’s widow, Vicky. No release date has been set.
The 16-time Grammy nominee committed suicide after a Soundgarden concert in Detroit on May 17, 2017. A coroner’s report concluded that “drugs did not contribute” to his death, though his wife filed a lawsuit against his doctor for “negligently and repeatedly” prescribing Cornell prescription painkillers and anti-anxiety medication.
The news comes just one month after Cornell was honored at the I Am the Highway tribute concert in Los Angeles, featuring a star-studded lineup of the Foo Fighters, Metallica, Miley Cyrus, Brandi Carlile, Chris Stapleton and the surviving members of Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog.
