
Donald Glover is bringing his music business to WME, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The agency already represents the Atlanta creator/star and future Lando Calrissian in film and television, but now it will handle his recording artist alter ego, Childish Gambino, as well.
Childish Gambino‘s third studio album, Awaken, My Love!, released on Dec. 2, sees Glover departing from rap and hip-hop in favor of more funk stylings. The project, like Glover’s Grammy-nominated 2013 album because the internet and his multimedia experiences Pharos earth festival and Pharos virtual reality, come from the creative collective Wolf + Rothstein, a partnership among Glover, Fam “Rothstein” Udeorji and Chad “The Wolf” Taylor.
“Donald manages himself, and it’s been that way for a while,” Rothstein said in a statement. “I’ve always thought about Childish Gambino as a character that can live on its own, and as a collective, the three of us have been able to cultivate and manage the trajectory of that character.”
