Superstar diva Cher gifted fans with an early Thanksgiving surprise by debuting her new single “Woman’s World” late on Wednesday night (Nov. 21).
The thumping dance single is the lead track from her upcoming new studio album, due out in 2013. The long-in-the-works Warner Bros. Records effort will be her first studio set since “Living Proof,” which was released in late 2001 in Europe and early the next year in the U.S.

A full, unfinished version of “Woman’s World” had leaked to the Web earlier this week, seemingly prompting Warner Bros. and Cher to rush out the final mix of the cut. “We thought we had time,” Cher tweeted to a fan last night who asked about plans for a music video, “but (‘Woman’s World’) started popping all over the world!”
Cher, who is quite chatty on Twitter, also told a fan that the new album is like her “Believe” set and it’s “Eclectic! Lots of dance, but none (are the) same kind of dance! Have big ass choruses, some heart rippers!” The entertainer has also mentioned previously that fellow leading ladies P!nk and Lady Gaga have written songs for the upcoming effort.
Cher last visited the Billboard charts in 2011, when she topped the Dance/Club Play Songs tally with “You Haven’t Seen the Last Of Me.” The tune, from her film “Burlesque,” made Cher the only act to have notched a No. 1 single on a Billboard chart in each of the last six decades.
