Cherry Lane Music Publishing Company has signed a worldwide publishing agreement with Warren Haynes, in a deal that includes his nearly 150-song catalog as well as new compositions going forward.
Haynes, a 20-year veteran of the Allman Brothers, also performs as a solo artist and as a member of Gov’t Mule, which he co-founded in 1994. Haynes’ songs have been recorded by the Allman Brothers, Garth Brooks, John Mayall, Phil Lesh, and the Dead, according to a Cherry Lane announcement on the deal.
“As a writer who writes songs in many genres – rock, blues, jazz, and country, it’s important to work with a publisher who is adept in all these areas,” Haynes said in a statement. “Cherry Lane more than fits the bill.”
The deal was negotiated by senior VP of creative services and marketing Richard Stumpf and Keith Hauprich, VP business and legal affairs, for Cherry Lane and Tim Mandelbaum and Stefani Scamardo for Haynes.
