Cherry Lane Music Publishing has signed a deal with APM Music, a production music house formed as a joint venture between EMI Music Publishing and BMG
Music Publishing. Under the deal, Cherry Lane will provide music from its catalog for APM to license in film, TV, games and other media.
This agreement expands the relationship between APM and Cherry Lane, which
previously licensed rights in the music used in Electronic Arts’ games to APM.
“We started our relationship with APM by first putting music from NFL Films into their system,” says Cherry Lane’s Richard Stumpf, senior VP of creative services and marketing. “Then we did the same with EA’s music. The results have been fantastic so it is natural for us to choose APM as our exclusive long-term partner in the library world. Today more than ever, there is an increased need for music that can be licensed easily for film, television, advertising and various media.”
“We look forward to creating a co-branded library which offers Cherry Lane clients such as Cirque du Soleil, the Weinstein Company, NASCAR, Lakeshore Entertainment, Walden Media and others the ability to participate in our service,” says APM president Adam Taylor.
