Dr. Dre has another asset to show off. The multi-millionaire entrepreneur, co-founder of N.W.A. and production mastermind/hip hop svengali who helped launch the careers of Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar, is now working closely with Justin Mohrle, a 23-year-old white rapper and songwriter from Dallas.

D Magazine broke the story. In its lengthy profile on Mohrle, the young artist talks about his new life in L.A. and getting “to work with Dr. Dre every day.”
Though Mohrle’s very much still a mystery-man (he’s known to his pals as JT), a trawl of his social network accounts reveals he’s worked with the likes of Gwen Stefani, King Mez, Xzibit and BJ The Chicago Kid.
It turns out the newcomer in 2012 released 21: Live Forever, a free mixtape under the name Love, JT, which apparently was “highly regarded among Dallas hip-hop fans” but fell through the cracks.

As the story goes, JT was introduced to Dre through former Death Row Records artist (and fellow Dallas native) The D.O.C. who, as part of a team, produced a demo EP on the new artist to pitch to Dre. Mohrle reportedly signed a 360-degree deal with D.O.C.’s entertainment company Silverback.
“This man helped change my life. Couldn’t ask for a better friend, mentor, and collaborator,” JT says of D.O.C. in a post on his Facebook page.
When we hear from him next, he’ll likely be known as Justin Night (because Justin Timberlake has JT pretty much to himself these days). And don’t expect to hear any music under that name between now and Christmas.
