Miguel is living proof that there’s no way but up. The singer-songwriter’s debut album, “All I Want is You,” has been climbing the charts for twenty-two weeks to date. “All I Want is You” debuted on the Billboard 200 at No. 109 on December 18 during 2010’s heaviest release period for R&B/Hip-Hop (Nicki Minaj‘s “Pink Friday,” Kanye West‘s “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy”).

Although falling off for three weeks, Miguel re-entered the chart and peaked at No. 37 on May 14. “All I Want is You” is holding strong in the top 40 for it’s second week with only two official singles, title track, “All I Want is You,” feauturing J. Cole, and “Sure Thing.”
The Billboard 200 isn’t the only chart Miguel has staked his claim upon. “All I Want is You” peaked No. 9 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart on May 14 and it’s second single, “Sure Thing,” hit No. 1 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart on May 28. This week, “All I Want is You” returns to it’s peak position on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart at No. 9, showing it’s perseverance.
The versatility in Miguel’s sound appeals to the ears of music lovers not just hip-hop aficionados. By seamlessly blending various genres such as R&B, hip-hop, pop and rock, as heard in “All I Want is You,” Miguel is sure to captivate a range of radio stations and continue to climb more than one Billboard chart.
“My sounds is definitely what I like to call ‘e-clectric.’ It’s got a mix of everything, rock, funk, R&B, hip-hop to intergalactic crazy sexy dope shit,” Miguel tells Billboard.com’s The Juice. “I feel that I bring a unique perspective, style and delivery that adds a breath of fresh air. There’s definitely qualities that are noticeable and that are familiar [to other artists] but I think the way that I bring them all together and make them a part of who I am is completely unique to what I represent.”
Miguel’s reps tell Billboard.com that they’ll be releasing two more singles from “All I Want is You” – “Quickie,” on June 13, followed by “Girls Like You,” later this summer. Miguel will be shooting visuals for both this summer. After touring with Usher and performing at Coachella, Miguel is gearing up for a solo club tour this summer and a college tour in the fall.
