Lupe Fiasco scores his second straight No. 1 on R&B/Hip-Hop Albums as his “Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1” bows atop the list with 89,000 sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
It’s his fourth consecutive top 10 album, and follows last year’s “Lasers,” which opened at No. 1 with a very strong 204,000. Comparatively, “Food & Liquor II” lacked a lead-up single like Lasers’ “The Show Goes On” (No. 9 peak on the Hot 100), which propelled the latter album to its more robust bow.

“B*tch Bad,” the first single off the “Food & Liquor II” set, continues to climb R&B/Hip-Hop Songs moving 75-65 in its third chart week.
Meanwhile, the second-highest debut on the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart this week belongs to Angie Stone. The singer returns to the tally for a seventh time as “Rich Girl” opens at No. 15 with 4,000 copies sold. Her best showing on the list was “The Art of Love & War” which debuted and peaked at No. 1 in 2007.
Back in the top five, the “Cruel Summer” compilation falls to No. 2 (55,000; down 73%), 2 Chainz‘s “Based on a T.R.U. Story” slips a rung to No. 3 (15,000; down 16%), Trey Songz‘s “Chapter V” is up 5-4 (10,000; down 13%) and Rick Ross‘ “God Forgives, I Don’t” rises 8-5 (9,000; down 7%).
Over on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, Miguel‘s “Adorn” logs a fourth straight week at No. 1. However, French Montana is nearing the top, as his “Pop That” (featuring Rick Ross, Drake & Lil Wayne), jumps 4-2. The gap betweens Nos. 1 and 2 is still quite wide, so expect Miguel to retain the No. 1 slot for at least a few more weeks.
Returning diva Brandy is on the verge of notching her biggest hit since 1999 as “Put It Down” (featuring Chris Brown) jumps from No. 5 to No. 3. While her last single to hit the top three was 2002’s “What About Us?” (which peaked at No. 3), her last tune to go higher was 1999’s “Have You Ever?,” which spent four weeks at No. 2 early that year.
Future‘s “Turn On the Lights” slips 2-4 while 2 Chainz’s “No Lie” (featuring Drake) drops 3-5. Trey Songz’s “Dive In” is steady at No. 6, as is Beyoncé‘s “Dance For You” at No. 7.
Kanye West and Jay-Z earn their respective 18th and 28th top 10 hits on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart as their collaboration “Clique” (with Big Sean) jumps 14-8. Among all rap acts, only Lil Wayne (with 32 top 10s) and Ludacris (29) have earned more top 10s that Jay-Z.
Rising to the top 10 in only its fourth week, “Clique” ties for the fastest climb to the region this year with Rihanna‘s “Birthday Cake” (featuring Chris Brown) and Usher‘s “Climax.”
Closing out the top 10: Juicy J‘s “Bandz a Make Her Dance” is stationary at No. 9 while Keyshia Cole‘s “Enough of No Love” (featuring Lil Wayne), falls 8-10.
The chart’s highest debut this week comes from Rihanna, who sees “Diamonds” debut at No. 66. It’s the diva’s sixth chart appearance this year as a lead act.
Right behind Rihanna is Weeknd with its first of two new entries: “Wicked Games” (bowing at No. 67).
Weeknd reached the top 10 of R&B/Hip-Hop Songs earlier this year as the featured artist on Drake‘s “Crew Love” (No. 9 peak on June 23), but “Wicked Games” is the Toronto native’s first entry as a lead act.
It’s the first single off his mixtape-compiling “Trilogy” (due Nov. 13), and it opens with 1.9 million listener impressions, according to Nielsen BDS. The singer is also featured on the smooth first single of Wiz Khalifa’s upcoming O.N.I.F.C. (due Dec. 4) titled “Remember You,” which debuts at No. 97 on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and at No. 15 on R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Songs with 24,000 downloads.
