The event is in solidarity with the national March For Our Lives rally taking place in Washington D.C. on the same day. The campaign, spearheaded by students, aims to put a stop to the string of endless mass school shootings and promote safety for America’s youth. March For Our Lives came about in honor of the 17 lives lost in the Parkland, Florida high school tragedy on February 14.
Celebrities and musical artists have come together to support the initiative, encouraging their fans to sign anti-violence petitions and performing at March For Our Lives events nation-wide.
“I am honored to be performing at March For Our Lives Los Angeles,” Puth said in a statement. “It has been incredibly inspiring to see students across the country organize and mobilize and I am grateful to be able to lend my voice to their call for action.”
The march will take place in Downtown Los Angeles, kicking off at the corner of 6th Avenue and Spring Street. Participants will head to Los Angeles City Hall and Grand Park together, where the rally will take place, featuring empowering speeches by students, teachers and community leaders.
