Update: Charlie Puth’s message to Demi Lovato took place before the song “Change,” not “See You Again,” as it was previously reported.
Charlie Puth took a moment during his show at BB&T Pavilion in Camden, N.J. on Tuesday night (July 24) to share a message for his friend Demi Lovato as she recovers from a suspected overdose.
“I hope she makes a quick, quick recovery and our prayers are with her,” Puth said of Lovato before delivering an acoustic performance of “Change.” (Note that the fan footage below is labeled incorrectly.)
A rep for Lovato said she’s recovering after the pop singer was reportedly hospitalized Tuesday following a substance overdose. “Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support,” a statement issued Tuesday night reads. “Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
