Medient Studios has announced that veteran entertainment executive Charles Koppelman has joined the company as vice chairman of its board of directors.
Koppelman currently serves as chairman/CEO of CAK Entertainment, a brand development firm that provides advisory work for such artists as Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Nicki Minaj and Adam Levine. He’s also currently a board of directors member of Six Flags Entertainment Corp.
“I look forward to helping Medient Studios modify what has been a broken and inefficient system in the entertainment content space,” Koppelman said in a statement. “The plan includes a fully integrated production model that will be disruptive as well as transformative. Building the largest sound stages; having the spectacular Leaf concert venue; in addition to the ‘live and work’ campus will generate real excitement inside and outside of the industry and I am thrilled to help Medient realize this grand vision.”
Over his career, TK has enjoyed entertainment industry stints as chairman/CEO of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, chairman/CEO of EMI Records and chairman of Steve Madden.
“Charles is such an important and influential leader in entertainment and finance. He brings great vision and experience to the company and will be a turbo booster in our continuing odyssey and we are thrilled that he is joining our board,” Medient Studios chairman/CEO Manu Kumaran said in a statement.
