Christian alt-rockers Switchfoot will offer one fan the opportunity to record a song with the band in their hometown of San Diego, Calif., as part of a charity auction to benefit StandUp For Kids. The auction will take place on May 28 at 12pm in partnership with Bidfire.com, a competitive shopping site. Standup for kids is a non-profit organization that works with homeless and at-risk youth in America.
The winner will be flown to San Diego for a four day stay at the Grand Del Mar resort where they will also receive VIP access to Switchfoot’s Jun 24 show at the Sand Deigo Country Fair as well as events during that weekend’s Switchfoot Bro-Am. The sixth-annual Bro-Am is a concert/surf contest that will also benefit local chapters of StandUp for Kids.
“Record a Song with Switchfoot” is open to both musicians and non-musicians and the winner will have the option to play on the recording or otherwise take part in the session. Participants in the online auction place bids of $1, which can be bought in advance. The last bidder before closing will take home the prize.
