The 11th annual Channel V Chinese Music Awards are set for Jan. 11, 2005, at the Shanghai International Gymnastics Center. The event will be presented by Channel V, China Central Television and the Shanghai Media Group.
Artists from mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong will compete for 11 awards, including most popular male and female singer, best male and female singer and best group. Nominees include Jay Chou, Jerry Yen, Andy Lau, Faye Wong, Jacky Cheung and Mayday.
Votes can be cast online or via mobile-phone text messaging or fax. In the lead-up to the event, six road-show performances will be staged in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
