Chance the Rapper made a very special visit during WE Day.
In a behind-the-scenes clip of the upcoming WE Day special broadcast, prominent teen March For Our Lives speaker, Edna Lizbeth Chavez, discussed her journey to stand up for what’s right. “I started my activism around the election. That election was very traumatic,” she explained. “We were highly impacted. My father was one of the first few to get deported. It was a moment for me to take action, I just kind of hit the floor running from there.”
Chance was listening to her behind a curtain nearby, and popped out to surprise her. Chavez was completely floored upon meeting the rapper, and shrieked in excitement before the two shared a hug.
“You are a true inspiration,” the Los Angeles native told him. “You stay true to who you are. You just never forget where you’re from.”
“You do the same thing,” Chance replied. “I was reading about what you’ve done for South Central. Real adult work, man.”
