The Boss is coming back to Saturday Night Live.
NBC shared a sneak peek of its December schedule, which confirms Bruce Springsteen is booked-in as musical guest for the final episode before the holiday break.
SNL will welcome Ryan Gosling as host with soul singer Leon Bridges as musical guest on Dec. 5, Thor star Chris Hemsworth will host and Chance the Rapper will perform on Dec. 12, while comediennes Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will co-host with Springsteen supplying the rock on Dec. 19, the year’s final episode.
Springsteen hasn’t appeared on SNL since 2002, when he swung by to perform “Lonesome Day” and “You’re Missing” from his The Rising (Columbia) album release of that year. He made his SNL debut exactly ten years earlier.
SNL celebrated its 40th anniversary earlier this year with a special presentation which featured the likes of Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Paul McCartney, Keith Richards and Taylor Swift. Springsteen celebrated his own 40-year milestone for his masterpiece Born to Run.
