Ann Chaitovitz has been named executive director of the Future of Music Coalition (FMC). Chaitovitz, based in Washington, D.C., will report to FMC’s board of directors and will assume her new role February 4.
Chaitovitz most recently worked as a copyright expert at the office of international relations at the US patent and trademark office, helping to formulate US government positions on domestic and international copyright matters. Previously, she was the national director of sound recordings for the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) and has served on the boards of SoundExchange and the Alliance of Artists and Record Companies.
Chaitovitz will replace Jenny Toomey, who founded FMC, and is leaving to become a program officer for media and cultural policy at the Ford Foundation.
