Chavril fans should take a sigh of relief. The couple remains strong.
Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger recently addressed speculation that his marriage to Avril Lavigne is on shaky ground.
“Sometimes it’s funny,” the singer told Canada’s eTalk, People reports. “When you’re standing in the checkout line at the grocery store and you look over and it’s your face on there. Not the … Kardashians … and Brangelinas … it’s ‘Chavril,’ ” he said. “You’re like, ‘Can I buy all these? So that no one can see?’ “
It’s not so much the couple who are paying that much attention to the rumors, but their families. “My family members hear this stuff … and then they call me up very concerned,” he added.

It’s a sentiment he also shared with ET Canada. “You know my dad calls me up and he’s just like, ‘I haven’t slept in 2 days, what’s going on?’ I’m like, ‘Dad you’re not buying all this crap are you?’ You know, I get to hear all the rumor mill stuff. I find it very amusing.”
Kroeger and Lavigne, both Canadian, married in the South of France in July 2013 on Canada Day. They also collaborated on “Let Me Go” off Lavigne’s 2013 album release.
He noted that the pair’s celebrity status makes them easy targets for rumors.
“When you get out of high school, and it’s like ugh, okay. All that rumor crap. All that stuff that people say behind each other’s backs is minuscule, pales in comparison to the world of celebrity or being married to a celebrity. That’s high school multiplied exponentially,” he commented. “It’s ridiculous. How many times has Jennifer Aniston been pregnant this year? A dozen?”
Though, it seems, there’s one piece of gossip he wouldn’t mind spreading: “Let’s start a new rumor. I’m pregnant.”
Nickelback’s next studio album, No Fixed Address, is is slated for release on Nov. 18.
