Hard rock and metal specialist Century Media has extended its international distribution arrangement with EMI Music with an exclusive deal covering Australasia. Stomp previously distributed Century Media’s product in the region.
EMI has distributed the indie label in the United States since 1997, and in Europe since 2005 in Europe. Century Media Records was founded in 1989 and is recognized as one of the world’s largest independent metal labels.
“Everyone at EMI is giving it the ‘rock horns’,” comments EMI’s senior VP marketing, Australasia and country chairman Australasia Mark Poston, who adds “Century Media’s great catalog is another addition to our incredible and diverse catalog of music alongside signings such as Iron Maiden, Airbourne and Korn.”
Century Media’s Australian label and marketing manager Andrew Haug notes, “These are exciting times and I look forward the next phase with EMI as we shift in to giving our beloved heavy music fans the music they love and deserve in many forms.”
Sets by Lacuna Coil, Earth Crisis, Duff Mckagan’s Loaded, Daath and Maroon are among the first batch of titles to be released through the new arrangement.
