Concert promoter AEG Live has announced that Celine Dion will return to Las Vegas for a three-year residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, beginning March 15, 2011.
Dion ended a five-year residency at the 4,100-seat Las Vegas venue on Dec. 15, 2007. During that time, the singer’s “A New Day” show grossed $385 million and drew nearly 3 million people to 717 performances, according to Billboard Boxscore. Following Dion’s departure, AEG Live tapped Bette Midler and Cher as residency artists at the Colosseum.

Soon after her final residency performance in Las Vegas, Dion embarked on a worldwide tour from 2008-2009 that ranked No. 16 on Billboard’s 2009 year-end touring tally. The trek grossed $56.9 million and drew more than 526,000 to 33 concerts.
AEG Live said in a news release that Dion’s upcoming Las Vegas residency will feature a full-band orchestra comprising 31 musicians. The concept of the show will be “centered on capturing the romance of classic Hollywood movies and performed with a stunning visual presentation,” the release said.
Tickets for the first 54 shows (from March 15, 2011 through Aug. 14, 2011) go on sale Feb. 12 through ticketmaster.com, or by calling 877-4CELINE. Ticket prices will range from $55 to $250, and VIP ticket packages will also be available through Ticketmaster.
