A 22-year-old male identified as Casey Young from Louisville, Ky., was killed on Interstate 24 in Manchester, Tenn., near the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival site early Saturday morning.
The accident occurred just after 1 a.m. on June 11, Nashville’s WSMV-TV reports. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says Young was in the median and attempted to run across the eastbound lanes, but he ran into the side of a moving semi truck. After bouncing off the truck’s trailer, he was hit by a Jeep Cherokee.
Young, who was wearing a Bonnaroo T-shirt and wristband, reportedly had drugs and alcohol in his system. The drivers were not cited and are cooperating with police on the investigation.
At press time, a rep for Bonnaroo had not responded Billboard‘s request for comment.
