
A Pasadena book signing got surprisingly romantic when a couple asked Sleater-Kinney‘s Carrie Brownstein, who’s currently promoting her new book Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl: A Memoir, to officiate an impromptu wedding. Even better, Amy Poehler was on hand to man the organ.

Kendall Oshiro, 23, and Genevieve Hernandez, 25, told the Portlandia star during the Q&A portion that they heard through a friend she had just been ordained (the actress and musician is supposed to marry another couple in a few weeks), according to a report from Us Weekly. They brought their marriage license to the Pasadena Presbyterian Church, where the signing was held, and conveniently, Brownstein had her ministry papers handy as well.
After Brownstein took some time to compose a speech, she married the couple in a short ceremony as Poehler serenaded them (though as she told the crowd, “I only know the first part of ‘Greensleeves'”) — watch the full ceremony below:
