You ever wonder what hardstyle would sound like if you kind of slowed it down and bassed it up? Maybe you throw a pitched-down vocal on it to add extra darkness? It might sound pretty dope, right?
Turns out it does, and you can ride the vibe on Carnage‘s new collaboration with Steve Aoki. It’s called “PLUR Genocide,” and while that is kind of an incredible name, that’s the most violent thing about it. It’s actually a really funky trap, with the solid beating rhythm you find in erratic hardstyle tunes — which means it’s still fun to jump up and down to, without beating you over the head with sonic aggression.
“PLUR Genocide” is the most dance-oriented track we’ve heard yet from Carnage’s forthcoming LP, Battered, Bloody & Bruised, at least in the sense that it doesn’t feature a rapper. It’s out everywhere now on Ultra Records. There’s even a cinematic music video featuring some tattoo’d, battling babies. Check it out for yourself below.
