Thanks to Cardi B, one badass biker/ballerina ensemble and a medley that featured one of her favorite collaborators, the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards kicked off with a bang and an unexpected mix of of her biggest hits.
Clad in a fierce leather look complete with a killer tutu, Cardi rolled seamlessly through every single one of her songs that have hit the airwaves since “Bodak Yellow” made her a household name. Her standalone singles, “Bartier Cardi” and “Bodak Yellow,” served as bookends for the beat-heavy combo, and she worked in her bars from her high-profile joints as well.
Her contribution to the “Finesse” remix, her ‘90s-channeling duet with Bruno Mars, shined on its own, as did her full-throttle verses from “MotorSport,” her track with Migos and Nicki Minaj, and “No Limit,” which had G-Eazy joining her and her crew of biker babes for a few lines. Still, “Bodak Yellow” appeared to be the crowd favorite, with many breaking it down from their seats, including Marshmello.
Cardi B could take home up to four iHeartRadio Music Awards tonight: She’s nominated for Best New Hip-Hop Artist, and “Bodak Yellow” scored nominations in the Best Music Video, Best Lyrics and Hip-Hop Song of the Year categories.
