Do you know all of the lyrics to “Havana” by Camila Cabello? Can you keep up with “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran? Would Cardi B be so impressed by how well you can rap along to “Bodak Yellow?” Billboard’s Taylor Ortega went to Times Square in New York City to find out just how well people on the street know the lyrics to these recent Hot 100 hits.
What comes after “Havana, ooh-na-na?” Street performers dressed as Batman and Spider-Man attempted to answer…but ended up just singing the Batman theme song. However, most “Finish the Hit” contestants did relatively well, give or take a few improvised lyrics that don’t quite match what Cabello had in mind when she wrote the track.
When asked to complete the lyrics to Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You,” there were some accurate answers, some good guesses and some killer dance moves. It also turns out New Yorkers are well versed in “Bodak Yellow,” with most participants correctly finishing Cardi B’s hit correctly, as well as showcasing their Cardi knowledge.
Plus, the Naked Cowboy joined in the fun and sang a little “Finish the Hit” jingle, which you can watch in the video below.
