Capitol Music U.K. president Keith Wozencroft has added stripes as president Virgin Records U.K.
In this newly-combined position, Wozencroft takes duties for overseeing the day-to-day management of Virgin Records U.K. to his existing and equivalent role with EMI Records and Parlophone.
His appointment to helm Virgin Records follows the departure earlier this year of its former managing director Phillipe Ascoli, who returned to his native France to establish a joint venture with EMI. A replacement for Ascoli has yet to be announced.
Wozencroft joined EMI in August 1990 as a sales representative. He later moved on to the Parlophone imprint in an A&R role, during which time he was closely involved in such hit acts as Radiohead, Supergrass and Mansun.
In May 1998, he was appointed managing director of Parlophone, where he oversaw superstar artists Coldplay, Kylie Minogue, Gorillaz and Blue Note artist Norah Jones.
His responsibilities expanded in September 2002 when he was appointed president Capitol Music Group U.K., overseeing both EMI Records and Parlophone and working closely with the newly appointed MDs of those labels.
Terry Felgate and Miles Leonard, the respective MDs of EMI Records and Parlophone, will continue to report to Wozencroft, as will the incoming Virgin Records MD.
Wozencroft reports to Tony Wadsworth, chairman and CEO EMI Music U.K.
