
Geoff Harris, a financial executive previously at the head of Universal Music’s UK label division, has been named Capitol Music Group’s new CFO. Harris will be relocating from London to Los Angeles for the position and will report to CMG CEO/chairman Steve Barnett and UMG’s EVP and CFO Boyd Muir.
“Geoff is that rare financial professional who is at ease within the creative environment, and who throughout his tenure at our UK company has demonstrated time and time again that he can walk that fine line between creativity and commercialism,” said Boyd Muir in a statement.

The label has had two big signings recently as well; Neil Diamond left his longtime home of Columbia for Capitol last month, and Beck decamped Intercope subsidiary DGC for Capitol last October, ahead of his new record “Morning Phase.”
