Quebec-based impresario Guy Cloutier, 64, was sentenced Monday (Dec. 20) in a federal court in Montreal to 26 months in prison for sexual assault.
The sentence followed his guilty plea Nov. 17 to five charges involving assaults on two victims, beginning when one was 11 and the other 12. The victims cannot be named under Canadian law.
The sentence was short of the five years requested by the Crown prosecutor.
Cloutier had admitted to assaulting one victim, now 35, beginning in 1980. He had sexual intercourse wih her when she was 12. The abuse stopped when she was 17.
For four decades, Cloutier has been a TV producer and one of Quebec’s top managers, whose clients included Rene Simard and his sister Nathalie.
