Canadian music publisher ole has inked a deal with Victor Murgatroyd’s newly launched Five K Entertainment Group.
Murgatroyd’s Five K Entertainment Group will find and develop artists under a new agreement with J Records. Murgatroyd will co-develop the publishing arm with ole, which is headquartered in Toronto with offices in Los Angeles and Nashville.
Murgatroyd served in A&R capacities at Epic Records and Windup Records, with a vast musical background as both an artist and an executive, having worked with such diverse artists as Evanescence, Incubus, Seether, Finger Eleven, Drowning Pool and Buckcherry; and as a musician with The Cult and The Four Horsemen.
Other ole co-ventures include Toronto-based Last Gang Publishing (Kinnie Starr, Mother Mother, MSTRKRFT); Nashville-based Roots Three Music (Bruce Wallace, Chris Thorsteinson, Dave Wasyliw, Steven Lee Olsen, Denny Carr); and Toronto-based ib Entertainment (Dru, Alonzo and Haydain Neale).
