Just in time for Bob Dylan’s 80th birthday, the singer’s Heaven’s Door Whiskey brand has unveiled its latest release: a limited-edition collaboration with Redbreast Irish Whiskey. Dubbed the “Master Blenders’ Edition,” the new whiskey is billed as “a tribute to both American and Irish artistry and whiskey.”
The “Master Blenders’ Edition” whiskey starts with Heaven’s Door’s 10-year aged low rye bourbon, and is finished for 15 months in Redbreast’s signature 12-year-old Irish Whiskey casks. What you get: a smooth and flavorful whiskey with notes of leather, nut and spice as well as sherry, citrus, dark fruit and Irish honeycomb.
Heaven’s Door says Dylan was actively involved in the process from start to finish, helping to select the final blend that was bottled, and helping to create the actual bottle itself. The company says the singer was “especially excited about the opportunity to partner with the Redbreast team, given his long history and influence from Ireland in his music and beyond.”
The Master Blenders’ Edition is available in super limited-edition right now at ReserveBar.com, with a suggested retail price of $99.99 for a 750ml bottle. Sold out? You can also pick up the $59 Heaven’s Door Trilogy Collection, which includes 200ml bottles of the brand’s three core expressions: Tennessee Straight Bourbon Whiskey, Double Barrel Whiskey and Straight Rye Whiskey. The Trilogy Collection comes packaged in a collectible box and everything can be ordered online and delivered to your door. See tasting notes and shipping details here.
Launched in 2018, Heaven’s Door Whiskey takes its cues from Dylan’s music, with its name coming from his hit song, “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door,” and its flavor profile inspired by robust notes mixed with good, old-fashioned whiskey-making tradition.
