Despite longtime late-night host Conan O’Brien closing the curtains on his TBS chapter, he didn’t appreciate BTS‘ J-Hope calling him “Curtain.” Now the K-pop superstar is sending his apologies in the cheekiest way possible.
BTS appeared on a South Korean variety show where they identified various celebrities in a game, but J-Hope confidently blurted out “Curtain” when he saw O’Brien’s face. The talk-show host deadpanned on his own show Wednesday, yelling after watching the clip, “Curtain. He called me Curtain! … I’ll get you BTS, oh I’ll get you good. And by that I mean I’ll silently resent you.”
But on Friday (May 7), J-Hope tried to kiss and make up by sharing an apology on BTS’ official Twitter account, writing, “Sorry,,,,, Curtain @ConanOBrien” and posting a selfie of his best kissy face.
BTS might be able to smooth things over more with “Butter,” their second English-language single due May 21 following the success of their Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 English-language hit “Dynamite.” The supergroup will unveil the first set of teaser photos on Sunday at 11 a.m. ET.
In the meantime, see how J-Hope teased O’Brien back following their “Curtain” fallout below.
