BTS already have one of the best-charting K-pop albums of the year with The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 1 and the guys aren’t ready to stop promoting it just yet.
The septet are keeping the success high with a video for Most Beautiful Moment album track “Dope,” one of the best songs off the very-good album. With its aggressive lyrics, party-ready production and exotic horn-laden breakdown, one could call the track the boy-band equivalent of 4Minute‘s “Crazy” — a very good thing considering “Crazy” is one of the best girl group releases of the year so far.
The “Dope” video shows the guys rocking a slew of professional outfits (J-Hope‘s in a race-car driver jumpsuit, Jungkook in a police officer uniform, Suga plays a naval officer) in what’s undoubtedly a visual mashup of various fantasies from the boy band’s fervent fanbase.
But BTS is are also showcasing some of their best dance moves to date here. While not quite as in-sync as more-senior groups like INFINITE and Teen Top, “Dope” is probably the act’s most technical and impressive routine since last year’s “Danger” and indicates further great choreography from the boys.
American fans can see “Dope” brought to life when the guys come to the states next month for their ‘Red Bullet’ summer tour — which is apparently so popular, sold-out VIP tickets being re-sold for more than $10,000. In chart news, last week BTS hit a new peak on Billboard Twitter Top Tracks when their 2014 track “Tomorrow” hit No. 8.
