Over the weekend, BTS’ trio of rappers RM, Suga and J-Hope released a charming diss track called “Ddaeng.” Filled with wordplay and tongue-in-cheek references to the haters and negativity that the group has encountered in the past, the song came out of the group’s fifth-anniversary 2018 Festa celebrations.
BTS’ fans around the world, known collectively as ARMY, reveled in the song, and many took to social media to express their delight. Ranging from lyrical analysis to fan art, ARMY had a lot to say about the rap line’s “Ddaeng.” Take a look at a few of the responses from Twitter below:
DDAENG doesnt mean BTS are not humble etc its just means theyre not naive nor that forgivin as you think they are , they hear & see everything they can smell fakeness & will call it out , brag about their well deserved achievements because they didnt receive them on silver spoon.

1,55M streams in just 6 hours. Imagine #Ddaeng being released as a single.. Hot100 is shaking, and considering how Hot100 is all up to hip-hop right now, it’s EXTRA shaking.. Freaking @BTS_twt rapline would eat that chart alive.@BigHitEnt take a note. pic.twitter.com/jfbMYypi6C

Listening to Ddaeng I realized the scars left in @BTS_twt by their past experiences & maybe even some now is deeper than what we think we already know.
The coldness in both the lyrics & the music pierces right through the bones.
They say revenge is best served cold. +

1. wrong / incorrect
2. sound of a bell ringing
4. sudden realization
5. sudden fortune
and so on…

The layers in the music lulls you to submission while the lyrics beat the crap out of you. @BTS_twt are scary .
Good thing I’m on their side.
