In a new video from Beats 1 on Apple Music, BTS opened up about their new album, Map of the Soul: Persona.
Introduced by host Brooke Reese as the “biggest band in the world,” the South Korean septet spoke a bit about what went into the album, including how they came to work with Halsey on the single “Boy With Luv.”
“We met two years ago at the BBMAs backstage,” said RM. “She told us that she became a fan after she watched music videos. We knew Halsey from ‘Closer’ [with The Chainsmokers], biggest song of that year. So we met backstage and she came to Korea last year, and we met again. We talked about, like, ‘We should collaborate. We should work on something.’ We got this track for this album and thought that Halsey would be the best voice for this track. It happened. Boom. Here we are.”
When asked about who they wanted to collaborate with in the future, Suga mentioned Drake, Jungkook suggested Billie Eilish and Jimin shouted out a love call for Troye Sivan.
During the interview, they also spoke about “Make It Right,” which was co-written by Ed Sheeran.
The short video is part of a larger interview with the band that will air on Beats 1 early Wednesday at 2 a.m. ET. Watch the teaser clip here here:
