BTS has announced the name of their upcoming single “Boy With Luv.” Revealed through a teaser video on Sunday (April 7), the song will feature Halsey and be released on April 12 as the lead song of their upcoming album, Map of the Soul: Persona.
The short teaser features Halsey operating a ticket window, which she steps out of to join BTS as they sit beneath a neon sign that reads “Persona.” The clip then jumps to their silhouettes performing beneath a sign that reads “Love,” as the song’s title in both Korean and English appears. While dubbed “Boy With Luv” in English, the Korean title “?? ??? ?? ?” translates roughly to mean “A Poem for the Small Things.”
“Boy With Luv” is the septet’s first single of 2019, and recalls the title of their 2014 single “Boy In Luv.” That song fronted Skool Luv Affair, BTS’ first album to appear on the World Albums chart.
Map of the Soul: Persona is BTS’ first album following the conclusion of their 2017-2019 Love Yourself trilogy, and comes after the finale Love Yourself: Answer was released in August, fronted by the hit single “IDOL,” which was released in two versions, one of which featured Nicki Minaj.
Both Love Yourself: Tear, released the prior May, and Answer made history when they topped the Billboard 200.
According to the music video teaser, “Boy With Luv” will be released simultaneously in South Korea and the United States, dropping at 6 p.m. KST, or 5 a.m. EST and 2 a.m. PST.
