Bruno Mars has officially been announced as the headliner of the Pepsi Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show, and despite only having two solo albums to his name, the 27-year-old has more than enough hit singles to command the biggest stage in the world. Following in the footsteps of Beyonce, Mars is set to rock MetLife Stadium at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, N.J., and will endure nearly five months of questions about the upcoming performance. Will there be guest stars? What will the stage look like? And most importantly, which hits will he bring to the Super Bowl?
With five Hot 100 No. 1 singles and a handful of other Top 10 tracks, Mars has a wealth of songs to choose from for the performance, which will likely clock in at 12 minutes. Vote for the five songs you think Bruno absolutely has to play during his upcoming Super Bowl halftime show!
Mars could go in a ton of different directions for his Super Bowl halftime performance — the singer-songwriter could stay somber and perform ballads like “When I Was Your Man” or “It Will Rain,” or keep things light with “Treasure” and “The Lazy Song.” Could B.o.B pop onstage for “Nothin’ on You”? Maybe Travie McCoy makes an appearance for “Billionaire,” or — dare we dream — Eminem shows up for their anthemic Bad Meets Evil collaboration “Lighters.” We can safely expect smashes like “Locked Out of Heaven” and “Just The Way You Are,” but you never know what else Bruno may have up his fashionable sleeve.
Fans will have to wait until Feb. 2, 2014 to see what Bruno Mars has in store, but check out the official trailer for the performance below, and discuss the halftime poll in the comments section. The top vote-getters will be revealed on Billboard.com later this week!
