After coming in second for four straight weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, Chris Brown’s “Run It!” finally seizes the No. 1 position. The cut takes over for Kanye West’s “Gold Digger” featuring Jamie Foxx, which held the top spot for 10 consecutive weeks. “Run It!” also remains No. 1 for the second week on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, jumps 3-2 on the Pop 100 and 5-3 on the Hot Digital Songs chart.
“Gold Digger” remains the top title on the Pop 100 for a ninth week but loses its No. 1 spot on the Hot Ringtones and the Hot Digital Songs charts to the Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps,” where the songs swap positions. On the Hot 100, “My Humps” remains at No. 3.
Tracks in Hot 100 positions 4-6 stay put, with Young Jeezy’s “Soul Survivor,” featuring Akon warming the No. 4 spot for a third week, while Nickelback’s “Photograph” and Sean Paul’s “We Be Burnin'” stick to No. 5 and No. 6, respectively. “Photograph” is also No. 1 on the Adult Top 40 chart.
Two songs break into the Hot 100 top 10, as the Pussycat Dolls’ “Stickwitu” leaps 18-9 and D4L’s “Laffy Taffy” advances 13-7. The latter track is also the chart’s greatest sales gainer. Kelly Clarkson’s “Because of You” descends 7-8 and T-Pain’s “I’m Sprung” falls 8-10 to round out the top tier.
Trina’s “Here We Go,” featuring Destiny’s Child’s Kelly Rowland is this week’s greatest airplay gainer at No. 19, while Lindsay Lohan’s “Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father)” is this week’s top debut at No. 66. Also new are Eminem’s “When I’m Gone” (No. 87), Purple Ribbon All-Stars’ “Kryptonite (I’m on It)” (No. 91) and Mary J. Blige’s “Be Without You” (No. 93).
On the Hot Latin Songs Chart, Shakira’s “La Tortura” featuring Alejandro Sanz is on top for an astounding 24th non-consecutive week. Maintaining its No. 1 position on the Adult Contemporary airplay chart for the 15th week is Rob Thomas’ “Lonely No More,” while Keith Urban’s “Better Life” holds at No. 1 on the Hot Country Songs chart.
Foo Fighters’ “DOA” takes over the No. 1 spot on the Modern Rock airplay tally, as Nine Inch Nails’ “Only” falls to No. 2 after five weeks on top. Shinedown’s “Save Me” leads the Mainstream Rock airplay chart for a second week.
