Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans were shocked when Fox announced Thursday (May 10) that it will be canceling the live-action comedy series after five seasons. One of those fans is none other than Lin-Manuel Miranda, who immediately took to Twitter to express his outrage.
“RENEW BROOKLYN NINE NINE,” he wrote. “I ONLY WATCH LIKE 4 THINGS, THIS IS ONE OF THE THINGS.”

Before retweeting multiple articles about the news, the Hamilton creator also responded to a user named Lauren who expressed that she was ready to fight to bring the show back. “THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT LAUREN!” he said before directing his attention directly to Fox: “@FOXTV, WHAT’S REALLY GOOD THO.”

However, Miranda isn’t the only one brokenhearted about the loss of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The Backstreet Boys also tweeted in mourning–although slightly less passionately. “Thanks for the memories,” they wrote alongside a hilarious scene from the show in which five potential criminal suspects had to sing their hit song “I Want It That Way.” See below.
