Comedian Brody Stevens was reportedly found dead at age 48 in his home on Friday (Feb. 22) of an apparent suicide by hanging.
The comic was incredibly popular in the Los Angeles comedy scene, performing hilarious sets at clubs around the city full of oddball jokes and quips about the San Fernando Valley, or the “818.”
Following the devastating news, countless comedians and celebrities took to Twitter to mourn their friend, who clearly brought so much joy into their lives. See the reactions below.
If you are depressed or feeling suicidal please please please please please reach out to ANYONE. I never get to see Brody Stevens again I can’t stand this. #RIPBrodyStevens #818ForLife pic.twitter.com/n1jQhXdOIz

On his old website, Brody Stevens had a pic of him and @davidcrosss with the caption “2 Generations of Laughter” and I don’t know why but that always laid me out. I think Cross is maybe 5 years older than him.

Brody was always the funniest guy in the room- he always closed CDR, because no one else could possibly follow him. #RIP https://t.co/QX8ji3Uuxz

Brody Stevens was so full of energy and passion. It was infectious. The last time I saw him perform, he walked out into the audience at the Satellite and did a 10 minute drum solo to a jaded crowd. He always persisted. He always pushed. 818.
