U.K. labels trade association the British Phonographic Industry will lead a trade mission to take part in Billboard’s fourth annual Film and TV Conference, set for Nov. 14-16 at the Beverley Hilton Hotel in L.A.
Some 23 labels will make the trip, which has been put together with support from government body U.K. Trade and Investment.
As part of the mission, the British delegates will partake in private meetings with leading figures in the American film, TV and radio industries.
The BPI says the initiative forms a key component of its international strategy. “This is our second synchronization mission to L.A. following E3 (games festival) in May,” BPI international manager Matt Glover says, “and not only represents our commitment to providing international market access to our members, but also in helping these companies to branch out and develop new and lucrative revenue streams for their catalogs.”
British companies attending the conference include Faith & Hope Recordings, Wall of Sound and Madison Management.
“We’re hoping that the mission to the Billboard conference will raise our profile in the U.S. and replicate the success we’ve achieved so far in Europe,” comments David Wood, co-owner of Faith & Hope.
