Britney Spears fans will have to wait a little longer than expected to get their hands on the pop star’s new album, “Femme Fatale.” Jive Records officially confirmed a Mar. 29 release date for the set today (Feb. 8), two weeks after a label source confirmed the accuracy of a leaked one-sheet that stated the album was coming out on Mar. 15.

In the meantime, the music video for “Hold It Against Me” — “Femme Fatale’s” first single, which sits at No. 8 on the current Hot 100 — will premiere next Thursday night (Feb. 17). The video was directed by Jonas Akerlund (Madonna‘s “Ray of Light,” Lady Gaga‘s “Telephone”) and will air simultaneously on VEVO and MTV at 9:56 PM EST.

Spears fans are already getting sneak peeks of the “Hold It Against Me” clip via daily video teasers posted on the pop star’s Twitter feed. A total of 14 previews will be released before the video premiere next week; the fifth clip, posted earlier today, shows a bright set of lights beaming down on Spears as she reaches toward the ceiling.
