Britney Spears has checked out of a mental health treatment facility and is now home, E! News first reported and Billboard can confirm.
The pop star checked into the 30-day program in early April following news of her father’s health struggles. “We all need to take time for a little ‘me time,'” she wrote on Instagram the day the news broke. On Easter Sunday, she was granted a one-day leave to celebrate with her family, according to People.
Since she’s been in treatment, rumors began to swirl claiming Spears was being held in the facility against her will. As a result, the #FreeBritney hashtag emerged and a group of fans protested for her release in West Hollywood on Monday. In response, the songstress uploaded a short clip to Instagram on Wednesday (April 24) assuring her fans that she is doing fine. “All is well. My family has been going through a lot of stress and anxiety lately, so I just needed time to deal. But don’t worry, I’ll be back very soon,” she said.
Spears has yet to publicly announce that she is back home.
