Britney Spears and husband Kevin Federline have linked with UPN for an as-yet-untitled six-episode series about their lives, to be broadcast later this year. The couple shot most of the footage that will make up the programs, dating from when they first met in Los Angeles all the way up through their 2004 wedding.
The network is also shooting new segments with Spears and Federline to tie together the narrative. Episodes will eventually re-run on MTV Music Group channels to be announced.
Spears, 23, has been the subject of rampant tabloid speculation about whether she is pregnant and if her marriage is on shaky ground. She posted an angry screed about the headlines last week on her official Web site.
“From the day that Kevin and I met, there have been constant rumors and inaccurate speculation about our lives together,” she says in a statement. “I feel that last year the tabloids ran my life and I am really excited about showing my fans what really happened rather than all the stories, which have been misconstrued by journalists in the past.”
“Now, for the first time, their millions of fans will get to see and hear the couple’s real story on UPN as told directly by them,” promises UPN president Dawn Ostroff.
