Prime Minister David Cameron of the United Kingdom appeared with President François Hollande of France on Monday morning outside Le Bataclan theater, where scores of concertgoers were killed during the Paris terrorist attacks. “President Hollande and I stood shoulder to shoulder outside the Bataclan Cafe in Paris,” he said on Twitter.
Cameron and Hollande were joined by Paris’ Mayor Anne Hidalgo as they placed a rose near the shrine to victims outside the venue. On. Nov. 13, terrorists killed 89 people at the storied theater during an Eagles of Death Metal show.
Cameron was visiting Paris to pledge his support to Hollande for France’s airstrikes against Islamic State targets in Syria. The British leader told reporters that “it’s my firm conviction that Britain should do so too.”
On Facebook, Cameron said he will ask Parliament to approve his plan to join international allies in going after IS in Syria.

“We cannot leave the burden and risks of protecting our country to others,” he writes. “Such action would be one key element of a comprehensive, long-term strategy to defeat Isil, in parallel with a major international effort to bring an end to the war in Syria.”
Cameron said he will make his case for U.K. airstrikes in Syria to Parliament on Thursday.
