It looks like the dog days of summer have officially kicked off.
On Sunday night, dog trainer Jules O’Dwyer and her dog Matisse were announced the winners on Britain’s Got Talent. The pooch and his owner beat out Boyband, Entity Allstars, U D I, The Neales, Jesse-Jane McParland, Danny Posthill, Calum Scott, Isaac Waddington and Old Men Grooving. According to the BBC, Simon Cowell, who is a judge on the program called Matisse “one of the best dog acts we’ve ever seen.”
O’Dwyer and and Matisse are the second dog act to win BGT. Back in 2012, Ashleigh Butler and her dog Pudsey went home victorious.

There was even more fun being had backstage. One Direction‘s Niall Horan later took to Twitter to share a photo of him and Louis Tomlinson hanging out with Fifth Harmony behind the scenes at the finale, where the girl group performed on the aftershow. “Always good to see you boys!! @NiallOfficial @Louis_Tomlinson see you at capital ball,” 5H tweeted. Of course, Cowell just so happens to have had a hand in both the careers of 1D and 5H.
So much fun with this lot last night! Absolutely love those girls. So much fun pic.twitter.com/VzbfO6guBA
